Our surroundings are what we connect to. How we respond is essentially up to us. When sharing our surroundings with fauna, I’ve found expressing this connection in
palette and strong contrast though painting and drawing. This shares the moments I encounter with others with the hope of developing another connection.
SUMMER TIME DAIRY QUEENS:

Driving past a herd of cows and their mess of intense black and white has held my artistic attention for years. ‘Dairy Queens’ was the first oil painting of what I thought could be a strong start of a series of paintings. My aim is to capture the boldness of contrasting colours and abstract qualities within nature.
This painting sold at the “Gippsland- From the Ground Up” exhibition at Meeniyan Art Gallery in November 2023.
COW CLUSTER:
Oil on Canvas
Set in Harmer’s Haven, 'Cow Cluster' is the second of three oil paintings of a herd of dairy cows huddled together at the fence line of their summertime paddock.
The cows are captured in their mess of bold contrasting colours representing black and white within abstract qualities.
The sky is of brewing clouds which brings a feeling of rain approaching. Both the cows and the viewer hold on to the anticipation of the rain fall which will be thoroughly welcomed after a few scorching hot days.

HARMER’S DAIRIES:
Oil on Canvas
Continuing the Cows in Landscape series, 'Harmer's Dairies' is the third of three oil paintings of the series … so far. A herd of Dairy Cows are greeting the viewer from the fence of their summertime paddock at Harmer's Haven.
The cows are captured with the original intension of the series which is depicting the mess of intense black and white one will find when they drive passed a herd of black and white cows.
